Chako Pit Bull Rescue is always looking for both foster homes and volunteers.

FOSTER HOMES:

Foster homes save lives! By signing up to be a Chako Foster Home, you will take in pre-screened dogs based on your stated preferences and what best matches your household. Don't worry, we'll always contact you before we accept a candidate to see if you are available to foster and want to foster that particular dog. You may even come with us to evaluate the dog and decide for yourself. If you are interested in fostering for Chako, complete our online form or download our foster application in MSWORD or PDF

If you have other animals, live in a an apartment, or don't have an extra crate, you can still foster for us! We work with individuals to make their fostering experience successful. We can lend you a crate and even possibly pair you with a volunteer who can give your foster dog a bit of extra attention. We do ask for a minimum 12 month commitment from foster homes since Pit Bulls can take a long time to place in the right home. The average "stay" for a Pit Bull is 7-9 months, although we can also use people who can act as "vacation fosters" on a short term basis to help take in a foster dog when foster parents are out of town.

Here is a video which includes a couple of interviews with Chako fosters!

VOLUNTEERS:

We need people to visit our foster dogs and give them even extra attention, training, etc. In addition, we need dog walkers, help at events, graphic designers, web gurus, newsletter help, and much more. If you want to get involved, email our volunteer coordinator.
