Chako's Service-a-Bull Program! (Rescue dogs placed as service dogs)

Chako is pioneering a Pit Bull service dog program! Our first Pit Bull service dog, Tauri, graduated from a program in San Diego and went on to become a Chako ambassador dog. Savvy is our current Chako ambassador dog and also a trained service dog.

Chako's service dog program provides partially-trained service dogs for persons with disabilities in the Sacramento area. We match our service dog in training with their new disabled owners based upon the needs of the person and the trained skills and temperament of the invidual dog. If you are a person with a disability in the Sacramento area who would like to apply for one of our service dogs, please fill out and submit the form below.

Chako's Service Dog Certification Program (for owner-trained dogs)

Chako now offers certification to owner-trained service dogs. Our trained public access examiners will ask you and your dog to complete exercises, in public. You and your dog must pass every exercise to receive certification. The certification fee is $275, which entitles you to a copy of "At Your Service -- How to Train Your Own Service Dog," and an advance copy of our test and criteria for you to practice prior to the examination. EMAIL US at for information or download the testing application.
