Date: December 27, 2007 Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma Victim: adult male, employee of Oklahoma Natural Gas Company Breed: Bull mastiff Severity: Moderate (one bite, broken arm) Circumstances:
In a brilliant move, the ONGC employee decides to leap a backyard fence
to check a meter. The guardian of the property felt this was
inappropriate and bit him on the arm. Link: http://www.kten.com/Global/story.asp?S=7550868 TULSA, Okla. (AP) - An Oklahoma Natural Gas Company meter reader has a broken arm after being attacked by a dog in Tulsa. The worker's name hasn't been released. Tulsa
animal control investigator Jake Wilson says the meter reader had
jumped a fence in the back yard of the home to read the meter Thursday
when he was attacked by a 140-pound bull mastiff. The dog bit into the man's arm and didn't let go until the worker began stabbing the animal in the head with a screwdriver. Wilson
says the dog is under quarantine for 10 days and the owner likely faces
a $75 fine because it isn't neutered. He says the dog probably won't be
considered vicious because the attack was inside the owner's fenced
property.
