Meet Mina - she is my beloved seven-year-old APBT. Four years ago, while volunteering at the Sac County Shelter in California, I met this bedraggled, cross-eyed, skinny pup who would eventually steal my heart. I could not resist the adorable pink nose, the beseeching looks or the goofy face (cross-eyes were from tapeworms and malnutrition). After months of TLC, she gained 15 pounds and developed into one of the most engaging dogs I have met (admittedly, I'm biased). Every time I look at her, I try to fathom why anyone would want her dead - it saddens me to think had I not walked out with this waif of a dog, she would have been led back to the euthanasia chamber and wagged her tail gently as she was killed. I love her dearly. :)
Of course, she manages to look quite abused every time I bring out the camera. :)
Too cute! And great photos!
