Montauk Monster -- Could it be a pit bull?
Well, now we've heard it all. Apparently, an odd-looking creature that some have said may be a publicity stunt, a dead raccoon, or (drumroll) a PIT BULL washed ashore somewhere around New York. Raccoon does seem to be the most popular view, one that Jeff Corwin shares. However, one expert from Stony Brook University claims it cannot be a raccoon because the legs are too long in proportion to the body.
Of course, any real life monster could only be a PIT BULL, as some have suggested.
That theory, however, was soon discounted because, obviously, Pit Bulls have fur that cannot be removed and they furthermore would never be resting docile, even dead. Finally, Pit Bulls could never have their jaws open because, as everyone knows, their jaws LOCK shut, even in death. So, obviously, this monster is not a Pit Bull.
The "monster" is likely is a dead raccoon, but the skull also looks a bit like a wild boar to me. The feet, however, are more consistent with that of a raccoon...assuming, of course, it is not a publicity-generated hoax for an upcoming horror movie.
Decide for yourself!
At any rate, one thing IS certain. It is NOT a Pit Bull. We know, we know.... The ONLY monsters out there ARE Pit Bulls, ergo, if it has MONSTER in the title, it MUST be a Pit Bull.
Sorry. Not this time!
