List of States currently dealing with BSL (note: this list is not exhaustive):

·         Arkansas: Shannon Hills: Is considering targeting Pit Bulls

The City Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at
6:30 p.m. at city hall.

·         California: The Governor signed SB 861!

·         Colorado: Aurora just passed a breed ban (Denver currently has one)
Parker, CO considering a Pit Bull Ban

·         Florida: Miami-Dade Pit Bull Ban

·         Illinois - Chicago, Bloomington, Bolingbrook and Schaumburg in Illinois are considering breed specific legislation

Illinois Bill SB1790, sponsored by Sen. Martin Sandoval, would label these
10 breeds as dangerous: "pit bull", Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, German Shepherd dog, Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Chow Chow, Great Dane, St. Bernard and Akita. All dogs of these breeds will have to be spayed or neutered. There is no exemption for conformation dogs. Owners are required to license their dogs with the state and hold "canine liability insurance". The bill passed the first reading, has now been re-referred to the "Rules Committee" (3-1).

·         Indiana: Attempted a new state law

·         KY - Louisville: meeting January 9th in Metro Hall, 4:00 p.m. regarding a proposed ordinance against Pit Bulls and Rottweilers.

·         Maryland: Prince George County's Pit Bull Ban under consideration for repeal

·         MO - Shrewsbury, MO: banned Rottweilers and Pit Bulls

·         NM - Santa Clara: Jan. 7, 2006: woman starts petition to ban Pit Bulls

·         Oklahoma: Breed Ban on the horizon
