Find the Rottweiler or Pit Bull (pure or mixed!)
One reason (of many) that breed specific
legislation (BSL) is a bad idea is because it is very hard to
enforce. Breed identification is a tricky game, and there are
many dogs that are NOT one of the targeted breeds that end up
being hurt by breed specific legislation.
Take a look at the following photos. Some of these dogs are
purebred. Others are mixes. Your job is to identify all the
purebred and mixed dogs you'd consider either a Pit Bull or Rottweiler
(two of the breeds most commonly targeted by BSL). There
are several correct candidates amongst the photos. Virtually all the dogs are from known parents (of known
breed). (Note: Pit Bull, for purposes of this test, is any
American Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier).
Once you identify a dog as either a Rottweiler or Pit Bull
(pure or mixed), click on its photo to see if you're right!
(Here's hoping you don't condemn the wrong dog to breed
discrimination).
